Job Description:
In fulfilling the Senior Coordinator Management Accounting role, you will be responsible for the translation of financial accounting and management accounting for internal and external use as well as monitoring current functional performances.:
Job Responsibilities:
- Escalate any anomalies / issues to HODâs, whilst ensuring communication & compliance to rules.
- Assist with implementation of standard reports on various areas. Compile summary reports for HOD review and consolidate reports / comments for Group Reporting team.
- Co-ordinate external audit queries, review and sign-off Cost Centre Structures and any changes. Compile and sign off on reconciliations e.g., SAP CO, Essbase & Rep12 before period close process. Ensure compliance to Financial governance requests.
- Coordinate inputs and reconciliation of system data to source data. Perform trend analysis on current actual to latest forecast and budgeted data. Establish process to ensure that issues identified via analysis is addressed by operational HOD
- Team. Quality check variance analysis including detailed comments. Consolidate variances analysis for area of responsibility.
- Meet regularly with cost centre owners to discuss and review cost control methodology. Enable cost reviews as well as monthly HOD reviews.
- Budgeting and Planning which includes the coordination of the planning process to ensure the Operation meet Group reporting due dates. Coordination with relevant parties to establish planning standards/parameters (Labour, Cost). Ensure zero based budgeting principles are applied by the Operation whilst reconciling signed- off plan to budget. Verify operation budget presentation for sign-off by Head of Department (HOD) teams and ensure distribution to cost centre owners and loaded on SAP.
- Compile standard processes, procedures, and templates for: budgets, management of outstanding commitments, labour reporting, capital, monthly cost reports and presentations. Quality review of report sand presentations.
- Implement forecasting process to increase accuracy. Ensure quality review of month end and periodic reports as well as consolidation. Forecasting – interpret actual trends and forecast accordingly. Ensure that improvements and operation initiatives are included in forecasts.
Job Requirements:
- Skills in financial analysis and modelling
- Strong MS Office skills
- Ability to influence opinion at senior level
- Strong creative thinking and analytical skills
- SAP is advantageous
- Comprehension of price sensitive information and consequences of potential miss-use
- 5 yearsâ experience dealing with complex management accounting within a large organisation
- Ability to work independently and deliver high quality product within a tight deadline
- Mining experience will be advantageous
- Monitoring of benchmarks and identification of performance
- Strong communication and coordination skills
