Job Description:

The CSIR has a vacancy for a Import/Export Manager. The successful incumbent will manage daily operational activities for department and take responsibility for the preparation of all goods and documents for the CSIR, including supervisory responsibility for all other Import / Export staff. Overseeing of complete Import / Export process. Liaising with customs/airlines/agents daily and complying to all relevant procedures / legislation. Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure proper and accurate record keeping of all imports and exports transactions and documents for audit purposes;
• Mitigate and manage all risks associated with imports and exports;
• Control and check the preparation and issuing of all import and export documents in line with relevant legislation;
• Oversee compliance with relevant and applicable import and export regulation and legislation as well as CSIR policies and procedures;
• Manage the CSIR’s daily import and export processes and activities in a cost effective and professional manner to meet deadlines and customer requirements;
• Manage the SARS deferment account and the budget for the Import and Export department;

Job Requirements:

• Relevant certifications on the applicable laws and regulations as required in the industry;
• Management experience will be an advantage;
• At least five years’ extensive experience in the imports and exports industry
• Imperial understanding of the international supply chain processes and procedures
• Ability to manage various projects simultaneously
• A Bachelor’s degree in imports, exports and logistics industry or equivalent qualification
• Imperial knowledge of customs matters, customs Act, duties, taxes and rebates
