Ekurhuleni Municipality Vacancies – Chief Engineer

Job Description:

Monitor, oversee and participate in the development of long, medium and short term master plans, capital investment programs and strategies pertaining to road infrastructure and stormwater management on area level

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure effective administration of the section, optimum utilization of resources and compliance of council and departmental policies
• Direct, control and optimise resources to meet established objectives, monitor results against business plans and make necessary adjustments where necessary.
• Participate and motivate the need for financial resources in order to ensure budgetary allocations for the implementation of road and stormwater plans and projects
• Advise on appointments of procurement service providers for the Area and ensure compliance with government procurement framework
• Provide inputs in the drafting of bids and bid specifications on roads and stormwater related projects
• Scan external environment to identify and take advantage of new knowledge of related acts, regulations and regulatory frameworks to ensure integration and compliance

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• 8 years’ experience in similar environment
• Professional registration with ECSA
• Valid driver’s license
