Job Description:
We are currently looking to hire a Chief Information Officer for our Group Technology Department.
The role will require significant experience in global or large-scale regional software deployment and infrastructure programs, as well as in depth knowledge of current and upcoming trends in the IT field. • This role is required to implement an information technology (IT) strategy that meets the company’s business needs, delivers optimal return on investment, and maintains utmost security.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple work streams, both internal, external, and regulatory.
- Reporting directly to the Group’s Executive Management, this role maintains full responsibility for the Group’s portfolio of information systems programs and IT infrastructure.
- Management of the Group’s IT infrastructure ensuring high availability, disaster recovery and appropriate security are achieved.
- Responsible for the Group’s IT costs to ensure these are matched to long-term business goals and strategic benefits, with full custody for budgets, contracts, licensing and related IT costs.
- Accountable for new software development / deployment programs with strong focus on scope, budget, and timelines.
- Monitor changes in the technology sector to discover ways the group can improve its competitiveness, enhance customer service, generate internal process efficiency and strengthen security.
- Provide consistent and clear communication between all project stakeholders.
- Develop recommendations to the executive management to implement strategic initiatives accordingly.
- Ensure buy-in of key global stakeholders on all strategic and operational initiatives / projects.
- Formulate and maintain corporate IT strategies and policies.
- Collaborate with members of the executive team to identify ways IT can assist the group in achieving business and financial goals.
- Build and manage IT teams covering software and infrastructure with a focus on global delivery and business support.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in programming and business analysis.
- Formal Project / Program qualification, for example PRINCE2.
- Results oriented / self-directed ability to drive change in a highly collaborative environment.
- Experienced team leader, project manager and cross-function program manager, with proven strong leadership skills and experience to manage and motivate IT teams.
- Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred.
- Good understanding of IT infrastructure technology such as Azure, DevOps, Cisco / Fortinet, Active Directory, Exchange, etc.
- Excellent ability to conceptualize long-term business goals and develop orderly processes to accomplish those goals.
- Demonstrable knowledge of current and anticipated global trends in corporate IT environments.
- At least 10 to 15 years’ experience in global or large-scale regional Systems delivery projects (SDLC, ERP and Infrastructure).
- Working knowledge of software development methodologies, including waterfall, iterative and incremental methodologies (SCRUM preferred).
- Genuine and keen interest in Access World’s business, and not operate in “IT / Systems” silos.
- Active engagement with various aspects of the business, understand and relate to the challenges and hurdles faced across departments and provide pro-active support to the complex IT needs across the company.
- Experience in system / application architecture design preferred.
