Job Description:

Sappi Saiccor Mill requires Human Resources Consultant: Operations to partner with Line Management, providing an effective, value-adding HR service to meet the demands of a high-performance organisation. Proactively interact with line management and employees through the delivery of professional human resources management services as a dynamic business partner.

Job Responsibilities:

• “One-stop-shop” for Line Management
• Coordinate performance assessment process and compile qualitative reports
• Compile month-end reports with a qualitative summary of statistics for the departments (overtime trends, etc.)
• Involvement in community services by dealing with domestic issues and taking ownership of housing for new recruits
• Ensure effective recruitment and selection as per business processes and according to the recruitment strategy and employment equity targets
• Coordinate the disability application and healthcare process
• Compile case summaries for CCMA/Bargaining Council referrals keeping records for future reference
• Responsible for unit departmental budgets and headcount requirements
• Understand and comply with HR legislation including internships, Workplace Skills Plans, and EE plans
• Create organisational awareness by staying abreast of activities in the business unit and by networking with sister units
• Provide IR training and continuous on-the-job training/coaching of line managers and employees
• Facilitate shop floor IR, consistently applying the disciplinary code and procedure
• Conduct stay and exit interviews providing qualitative reports to line management and HR and dealing with resultant issues
• Participate in incident investigations and deliver HR input and solutions
• Conduct onboarding and unit orientation for new employees and continuously benchmark and enhance induction programs
• Initiate succession planning and career paths aligned with business unit requirements.

Job Requirements:

• NQF 6 Human Resources qualification
• Minimum of five years experience within a manufacturing, unionised environment
• SAP HR would be advantageous.
