Job Description:

The Wits School of Education is seeking to appoint a suitable candidate at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level in the Division of Languages, Literacies and Literatures to contribute to teacher education in our rapidly expanding programmes. Areas of expertise must be in English Language Education across the intermediate, senior and FET phases. However, preference will be given to candidates who have expertise in English Language pedagogies, and Literacies theory and pedagogies. The incumbent will be expected to teach, using the blended learning approach, at both the undergraduate and post graduate levels; engage with teaching experience; and supervise postgraduate students.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to contribute to the teaching of pedagogical and literacies courses.
• Be willing to supervise postgraduate students.
• A PhD
• Ability to engage in teaching experience.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience of teaching English at school and/or at higher education.
• Ability to contribute to curriculum innovation and design and in the implementation of new courses.
